Disclaimer and Warning:
Losing weight should only be done in a healthy manner. Never starve yourself in order to lose weight, as it can lead to physical complications. You should always consult a doctor before starting any diet, and throughout your loss progression, to guarantee you are losing weight in a healthy way.
Fast Diets & Healthy Dieting
Diets often require you to decrease the amounts of calories, carbohydrates, and fats you consume, causing your body to burn the excess fat it has stored. Burning fat creates a cascade effect that eventually leads to increased metabolism (which in turn, burns more fat), but you must always take care to give your body what it needs in order to function properly.
Once you start a diet, make a conscious decision to keep the weight off. Yo-yo dieting (quickly losing weight, then gaining it back, then losing it again) is very bad for your health. Many people do this on a yearly basis, losing large amounts of weight nearing the Summer months, then gaining it all back during Winter, only to rush and lose it again in the Summer. This kind of diet causes great strain on your body because it doesn’t get a chance to enter into a routine. It gets stuffed with food, which it must process and store away, and then gets deprived so it has to burn off all of its stores. Some scientists think this damages the body’s ability to store and burn calories properly. Some say it can even lead to cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension.
Maintaining Proper Caloric Intake for Long Term Weight Maintenance
Calories are your body’s fuel. When you deprive your body of calories, your body thinks food sources are scarce, so your metabolism slows down in order to conserve energy. Your body also stores all the fuel it can – in the form of fat – so that it can draw from these stores in the near future.
In order to lose weight quickly, you must deprive your body of calories, but because doing this lowers your metabolism, if you then begin consuming high-fat and high-carb foods, or excessively large portions, your body will gleefully store these fuels as fat.
In order to maintain a healthy weight after a quick diet, you must find the middle ground between consuming too few calories and consuming too many.

Weight Loss Tips
- Avoid eating too many foods that are high in fat, such as red meats and rich cheeses and dressings. Your brain and body need fats and oils in order to function properly, but don’t overdo it.
- Stay away from “empty calorie foods” These are foods that contain a lot of calories, but little nutrition. These include candy bars, cookies, cakes, ice cream, sodas, and even fruit juices.
- Eat plenty of whole grains, fiber, fruits, and vegetables. These foods are very nutritive and provide the vitamins and minerals you need in order to live a healthy, active life.
- Stay active. Even if you limit your caloric and fat intake, it’s difficult to maintain a healthy weight if you don’t add some exercise to your daily routine. A brisk 30-minute walk each day (or two 15-minute walks) is the bare minimum you need. Of course, more is better.
Choosing a Safe Fast Diet
When you first decide to lose weight, it’s important to consult a physician. Your doctor can help you come up with a healthy fast diet plan, or tell you which lose weight diets are the best for your needs. Never start a quick weight loss diet on your own. They can be dangerous if followed improperly, especially the ones that severely limit caloric, fat, or carbohydrate intake. Your doctor will be able to tell the healthy diets from the unhealthy ones and help you come up with the right fat loss diet for you.
When speaking with your doctor about quick ways to lose weight and keep it off, let him know why you want to lose the weight. Do you want to look better, feel better, have more energy, or prevent diseases? Do you have the time to prepare your own meals, or will you be buying pre-packaged ones? Do you have any religious or moral convictions that require you to stay away from animal products, or certain other types of foods? Also, mention any allergies or medical conditions you may have. All of this information is crucial in choosing a suitable weight loss plan.
